SPAR South Africa continues its strong commitment to youth development through the YES for Youth Programme 2026. Since 2019, SPAR has played a leading role in creating employment opportunities for young South Africans and has been officially recognised by the President as a Top Contributor to youth employment and ESG impact.
The SPAR YES4Youth Programme 2026 offers unemployed youth a valuable opportunity to gain practical work experience, workplace skills, and training that improves long-term employability across the retail and business sectors.
Programme Overview
The YES4Youth Programme is a structured youth employment initiative aimed at empowering young people with real-world exposure and job readiness training.
- Programme Intake: 6th Annual SPAR YES Programme
- Contract Start Date: 01 April 2026
- Training & Placement: Nationwide (various SPAR-related sites)
- Cost: 100% Free (No application fees)

- JumpStart training
- One-week workplace exposure
- Formal interview process

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the SPAR YES4Youth Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen
- Aged 18 – 28 years
- Unemployed
- Not studying full-time
- Grade 12 (Matric) completed
- Clear criminal record (criminal checks will be conducted)
- Willing to participate in training and workplace activities
Advantageous (not compulsory):
- Completed University Degree
- FET / Technical Trade qualifications
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents during application:
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified South African ID copy
- Certified qualification certificates (if applicable)

- Criminal checks will be conducted by Catalyx
- The programme is supported by SPAR, Catalyx, Build It, and YES
- No organisation involved in this programme charges any application or participation fees
