This role is customer-facing and focuses on delivering exceptional service while assisting clients with their daily banking needs.


Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of the Service Consultant role is to enhance clients’ lives by delivering excellent customer service and meeting their banking needs efficiently. Service Consultants use Capitec’s Global One product offering to help clients bank better and live better.

The position requires individuals who are confident, professional, and motivated to exceed client expectations while supporting branch performance.


Minimum Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 to 6 months of previous client service experience in a retail, financial, or banking environment
  • Alternatively, candidates with no work experience may be considered if they hold a relevant tertiary qualification

Ideal Experience:

  • More than 1 year of client service experience
  • Proven exposure to a sales-driven, client-facing environment

This makes the role suitable for both entry-level candidates and those with some customer service background.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Grade 12 / National Certificate (Vocational)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or a similar field
  • Certification in Finance or Banking

Knowledge Requirements

Minimum Knowledge

  • Basic calculations
  • Understanding of a retail or consumer service environment

Ideal Knowledge

  • Capitec Bank products and services
  • Internal banking processes and procedures
  • Organisational policies, including Branch Credit Granting Policy principles

Key Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management abilities
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Confidence in engaging with clients
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
