Purpose of the TB HIV Data Capturing Opportunity

The main purpose of the TB HIV Data Capturing Opportunity is to support HIV testing services through both community-based and facility-based programmes.

  • Supporting HIV testing services

  • Promoting PrEP and PEP services
  • Supporting treatment linkage and re-entry into care

Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants appointed to the TB HIV Data Capturer Opportunity will be responsible for:

  • Conducting community mapping to identify HIV and TB hotspots
  • Mobilising high-risk populations with guidance from nursing staff
  • Identifying and engaging community-based organisations and youth structures
  • Conducting pre-screening to identify individuals at high risk of HIV
  • Linking clients to appropriate care and support services
  • Providing treatment literacy, including PrEP education
  • Offering one-on-one counselling and group counselling sessions
  • Facilitating health talks to promote adherence and disclosure support

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the TB HIV Data Capturer Opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or NCV qualification
  • Between 20 and 35 years of age
  • Accredited 10-day HIV counselling certificate
  • Certified to conduct finger-prick testing
  • At least 1 year related experience or training
  • Ability to communicate in English and isiXhosa
  • Reside within the relevant district

Advantageous requirements:

  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport
  • Experience in DREAMS or related programmes
