Clover is offering exciting opportunities for unemployed South African youth through the YES Learner (Merchandiser) programme. The Clover YES learner merchandiser jobs provide valuable workplace experience within Clover’s Sales Execution department over a 12-month period.
This programme forms part of Clover’s partnership with the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative, aimed at empowering young people with practical skills and work exposure.
YES Merchandiser Learnership Programme Overview
The YES merchandiser learnership programme is designed to equip learners with hands-on experience in retail merchandising, stock control, and customer engagement. Successful candidates will be placed at Clover branches across South Africa, including major distribution centres and regional locations.
Learners will gain real-world experience while contributing to Clover’s mission:

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Learners appointed to the Clover YES learner merchandiser jobs will be responsible for the following:
Stock Control and Ordering
- Control and order Clover stock in-store and backup areas
- Apply correct stock control measures
- Minimise and manage product returns according to store plans
- Prevent out-of-stock situations and report issues to the Area Manager
- Place accurate and timely orders in line with ordering schedules
- Maintain clean, neat, and well-presented products on shelves
Merchandising and Shelf Management
- Pack shelves according to Store Flow and merchandising rules
- Apply correct shelf control based on store and shelf plans
- Maintain fridge standards and shelf sets using provided planograms
- Ensure price and product labels are displayed correctly
- Maintain point-of-sale material at allocated positions
- Identify opportunities to improve product visibility in-store
Administration and Relationships
- Maintain accurate merchandising administration
- Build and sustain professional relationships with store management
- Collaborate with Area Managers, Head Office, customers, and fellow merchandisers

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / National Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Fluent in Business English
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Must be unemployed at the time of appointment
- South African youth eligible for the YES programme
