This position focuses on servicing outlets where Clover Merchandisers or Shelf Packers are not deployed, such as service stations, FSI outlets, and the bottom end of the trade. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong customer relationships while ensuring consistent sales growth and product visibility.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Increase Sales Volumes in Stores
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth within allocated routes and outlets. This includes preparing effective route plans, adhering to call cycles, and ensuring all customer visits are conducted professionally and efficiently. Sales administration duties such as order processing, reporting, and documentation must be completed accurately and on time.
Provide Excellent Customer Service
Delivering high-quality customer service is central to this role. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at store level, identify customer needs, and provide appropriate sales solutions. Supporting customers with correct sales processes and ensuring consistent stock availability are critical responsibilities.
Monitor and Report Sales Performance
Sales Representatives are expected to record and report sales volumes per outlet and product category. This includes monitoring pricing, implementing negotiated prices, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Accurate reporting helps management make informed decisions and improve overall business performance.
Optimise Product Basket and Promotions
Another important aspect of the role is optimising the basket of principal products. This involves negotiating product placements, introducing new products, arranging promotional materials, and supporting product launches. Maintaining facings and reducing stock returns are essential to ensuring profitability and brand presence.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Fluent in Business English
Valid Code 10 motor vehicle driver’s licence
These requirements ensure that candidates can operate independently, communicate effectively with customers, and travel between outlets as required.
